These sterling silver earrings were cut from 22g sheet and measure 1" wide by 2 1/4" long to the top of the earwire. I love the simpleness of them, and the complexity of the textures and color. After cutting into the 1st shape of half an oval, the earrings are hammered on two different edges to curve. They are annealed a 2nd time and then pried open. By hammering on 2 different edges it makes them bend in different directions.
The outer edges are then shaped to give them the curvy look. A patina was applied to accentuate the textures and waves.
The earwires are handmade from 20g sterling silver wire.
Sterling silver may tarnish if not stored properly. An anti-tarnish pad is included with these earrings and should be stored with them when not being worn. A good jewelry polishing cloth should remove any tarnish if it appears.
