These sterling silver earrings are 1" wide by 2 1/4" long to the top of the earwire. I love the simpleness of them, and the complexity of the textures and color. After cutting the 22g sterling silver into the 1st shape (half an oval), the earrings are hammered on two different edges to curve. They are annealed a 2nd time and then pried open. By hammering on 2 different edges it makes them bend in different directions.
The outer edges are then shaped to give them the curvy look. A patina was applied to accentuate the textures and waves.
The ear wires are hand made from 20g sterling silver wire.
Sterling silver may tarnish if not stored properly. An anti-tarnish pad is included with these earrings and should be stored with them when not being worn. A good jewelry polishing cloth should remove any tarnish if it appears.
