I am a firm believer is using old scraps of metal.  I found 2 pieces of brass that over time had turned a gorgeous color of green and rust.  I just had to use them for these earrings!

These brass scraps were cut 1" wide by 1 1/2" long in a fun 3 point pattern.  I melted and hammered an 8g brass wire and attached it to the earrings with an 8mm brass jump ring.  The earrings were sealed to protect the gorgeous colors.

The earring hangs 2" to the top of the handmade earwire which is 22g brass wire.

Weathered Brass

  • All of my earrings are sealed with either a paste wax or a spray sealer.  If they do tarnish, just polish with a jewelry polishing cloth.  Each piece comes with an anti-tarnish pad which should be kept with the earrings.
